A Komi language, likewise referred to as Zyrian, or even Komi-Zyrian, occurs as language spoken per Komi peoples in the northeastern European part of Russia. Komi belongs to the Finno-Permic group of the Finno-Ugric languages.

Of a many accent witnessed inside Komi, ii major accent come recognized, although the differences are non awesome: Komi-Zyrian, a big class action, which serves when a literary basis in the Komi Republic; and Komi-Yazvthe, spoken by a microscopic, isolated class action of Komi to the east of Permyakia autonomous district and south of the Komi Republic. Permyak (also known as Komi-Permyak) is spoken around Komi-Permyak, in which it has literary status.

Komi language has the super interesting history of writing, unusual among Finnic languages. A number one writing system, known as Abur, was invented in the 14th century by the missionary Stepan Khrap, apparently of a Komi mother within Velikiy Ustyug. Stephen late became the Komi saint. A alphabet shows a select few similarity to mediaeval Greek and Cyrillic. In the 16th century this alphabet was replaced by the Russian alphabet with certain modifications for affricates. In the 1920s, the language was written within Molodtsov alphabet, also from either Cyrillic. In the 1930s it was switched to Latin. Since a 1940s it uses a Russian alphabet + a extra letters І, і & Ӧ, ӧ.
